Breaking My Finger

I broke my finger this past Thursday. I was catching during our jv game and my finger got hit with the ball. The pain might have been terrible and the news might have been bad but nothing was worse then feeling like I let everyone down. 

Music

I'm like any other teenager. I love music! I love singing with songs on the radio or singing a long at church. Sometimes I get looked at strange just for how loudly I sing. But it shouldn't matter if I sing loud or soft a lot or not at all. I also am in band at school I have been in it since I was in 6th grade. Some express themselves through their clothes others through dance. I express myself through music and writing.

Never Give Up

We are reading a book in my English class right now called "Fault in Our Stars." It's about this girl who has cancer. It started in one area and spread to another. She fell in love with this boy who has bone cancer. They never give up on themselves or each other. They didn't let the fact that they had cancer stop them from living their lives. This is how we should all live our lives. Never letting anything get us down. Yeah we experience heart ache or loss sickness or pain but that doesn't mean we have to give up.

Gospel Meeting

Our gospel meeting started today. Our speaker is James Rogers. This morning his lesson was on Footprints of Jesus Where do they Lead? He is an amazing speaker. Please join us if you have the chance.

High School Life

Being in high school is hard. People get bullied and left out. Some change just to seem cool. People say high school is when you find yourself or figure out who you really are but I honestly don't think it is. People change in high school to make themselves blend in with everyone else. You hardly ever find someone who remains true to themselves during this period of their life. I wrote a poem last year as a freshman that really relates to this topic:

Cliques,rumors, and lies are all apart of the high school life
Clothes that are in and out make certain kids feel left out
People changing because they want to be cool
Only make them look like fools.
Stay true too yourself and that's all you'll need, your the only person you need to please 

Taking Test

Yesterday we took the Bible bowl and Pearls test. I love taking them because it challenges me to learn more about the Bible. 

Our Youth Group

Our youth group is like no other. We have three babies, nine little kids, and one teenager. We are all always here for each other and willing to help when is necessary. I love these kids like they are my brothers and sisters. We support each other and just like to have fun. These kids are a big encouragement to me whether they realize that or not. I hope they all continue to grow as Christians.

Family

Do you have a big family? I know I do! My family is so big there are people I don't even know. We try to have a family get together at least once every month. We might fuss and argue sometimes but we still love each other. All families have their problems. Nobody's family is perfect. The thing we need to keep in mind though is that families are suppose to be there for each other no matter what. If you don't have your family then who do you have??

Being a Good Example

I know it is hard to be a good example but it's something we have to learn to do. We always have people watching us. Personally being the oldest in my church youth group it gets hard. To always have a little kid watching me and wanting to do what I do is a little intimidating. But if we rely on God then we can be the best examples we are capable of being.

Valentines

 

Well Valentines Day is next week. Everyone is going around trying to find some one to celebrate it with and to be able to show someone they love them. But instead of looking for a valentine why not let God be your valentine and show him how much you love him. This is something we should do on a daily basis. We should be constantly showing God how much we love and how much he means to us by doing what he commands us to do. 

Practicing Song

Today we practiced song. It's so inspirational practicing and seeing the kids younger then me being so dedicated to what they are doing. 

Memorizing My Speech

Today I started memorizing my speech. I'm determined to memorize the whole thing this year. I used to do this and I really want to get back to that. When I start memorizing I have to take it one word or sentence at a time. I know this seems like a weird study habit but it's how I have to do things. 

Appreciate The Life You Have

Life involves pain,sorrow, and gain

Memories, and happiness, laughter, and shame
But all of these help make us who we are because without these things we wouldn't be as bright as a star
And as life goes on we all change and grow old never forget the story your life has told.....

Stuck In The House

Well I have been stuck in the house since Monday. I had to leave school early because I was sick. Then couldn't go to school Tuesday then this "winter wonderland" started.  School has been cancelled for tomorrow too. With all this time I have been stuck in the house I have had a lot of time to practice my speech, write on here, and practice my music for band. I have watched plenty of movies and talked to my best friends the whole time. What did you do to make the time go by faster?

Winter Wonderland 2014

Well today there wasn't just a little bit of snow in Alabama there was a whole lot! Luckily I didn't go to school but schools we're let out early. A bunch of my friends had to walk from our school to the closest intersection to meet their rides. Some even walked long distances to try and get to their kids if their cars got stuck in the snow. People were stuck and still are in their cars, at jobs, or at schools. There are still people who are just now making it home or won't be making it home at all tonight.  It was said that many people were good Samaritans today. When peoples cars got stuck in the snow other people were willing to push their cars to help them get along their way. We should do this all the time not just when there is a state or national crisis. Don't get me wrong it's great to help people when these things happen but we should help others all the time not just when these sort of things happen.
