Sweet 16

Last Friday I turned 16! I was so excited! I got to have my four bestfriends stay the night and then I had a surprise birthday party. When I was laying in bed that night so thankful for everything I had gotten I thought about something. I am really lucky I made it to the age 16. There is a lot of people in this world who didn't make it to this age. A lot of kids my age have lost their life due to sickness, shootings, or murders. When I thought about this it made me reexamine how I am living my life.

School

Well school starts Monday and I'm so excited! I will be in the 10th grade this year. It's going to be different from last year because this year I'm taking all advanced classes. I'm ready to see all my friends. I will be 16 this year so that's another reason I'm excited about school starting. Are you ready for school?

Injuries

Recently I got injured during band practice. I was running around the parking lot I stepped in a hole fell and twisted it. I went to the hospital after practice and found out it was a really bad sprain. We go through many challengers in life being Christians the main thing is how do you handle the situation. God won't put more on us then we can handle. Yeah I might have a sprained ankle but it won't be that way for long. What is your injury?

Just Getting Back From The Beach

Well I am just getting back from the beach. I had a great time! I went down there with my mom, grandparents, uncle, and little cousin. We did a lot of things from going shopping to eating ice cream. It was overall a pretty good trip. We spent a whole week down there. On the Friday before we left my little cousin spent the whole day crying because she didn't want to come back home I felt so bad for her. Everyone kept asking us what was wrong with her every where that we went. Finally to get her to calm down we had to promise her we will come back next year. Maybe sometime you can go to the beach with your family and make memories that you can cheerish for the rest of your life just like I have done with my family.

Renew

Recently I just went to Renew at Indian Creek Youth Camp. It was the first time I went to this event. I had a lot of fun and really enjoyed it. I made a lot of new friends and learned more about the Bible. I plan on going back next year and I hope you will try to come too!

Big Brother Big Sister

Recently I was chosen to be apart of the Big Brother Big Sister Program. Being only a freshman this year this is a big deal. At first I was really excited about being one because I would get to mentor a little kid and help them with their problems but after my interview I started getting nervous. When I got interviewed to be a big sister they asked a lot of questions from what's your favorite subject in school to what's your home environment like. At first I didn't understand why they were asking me all of these questions but when I started thinking about it I did. They don't want to get you matched with a child that you have nothing in common with and they don't want to put them with a older kid that's not fit to be a role model. I am going to take this opportunity to help my little sister as much as I can. I plan to teach her a lot about God and the Bible. I can't wait til August so I can meet my little sister!

Don't Rush Your Life Away

Don't Rush your life away it's the only one you got. This school year has gone by so fast! I wrote a poem to describe this and I would like to share it with all of you. "First day of school some smile some frown. Just ready to get the school year down. But it goes by so fast making it hard to breathe. Before you know it you will be in the 12th grade." When school first started for 2012-2013 kids were already saying that they were ready for school to be out but seriously why rush your life away. Now some of those kids were seniors and they are about to graduate next week. You won't get these moments back so you should cherish them while they are still avalible. When you get older and have kids, grandkids, husbands, wives you are going to look back at your life and see what you did. Are you going to be happy with the life you lived or wish you did something different? Will you be able to tell your kids and grandkids stories about what you went through? Will you be able to help them with something they are going through or will you be in bad shape if one of them come up to you asking about something because you rushed your life away?
